Can Buddhism believe in fortune telling,Fengshui,Tarot card reading ,face reading, astrology etc?

The Kevatta Sutta says that fortune-telling, magic, blessings, auspicious objects, reading body parts, and reading the stars, among many other things, are "lowly arts" that Buddhist clergymen should abstain from.

It appears to be aimed to prevent priests from profiting by using con artistry.|||You'd be hard pushed to find a lay person practicing a 'pure' form of Buddhism unless he or she lives as an ascetic or hermit. There are many forms of Buddhism practiced throughout the world that absorbed pre-existing indigeneous shamanic practices or animistic cultures - does that make any one form more wrong or right than the next?

The disciplines you mention were ancient branches of 'occult' wisdom that have been given a bad name by pop culture and charlatans. Occult in Latin refers to knowledge of the 'hidden' or 'secret'. NOT just to black magic or Satanic worship that it has unfortunately come to mean to most people.

I'd just be wary of anyone promising quick fixes or guarantees.|||Hello

Buddhists are aware that opening of energy centres allow for psychic expression %26amp; as they are respectful of all faiths it would be ok.

I myself am a psychic, healer %26amp; Buddhist.

Sadhara|||They may believe, but those are not part of a Buddhist daily life...
