Fengshui is nothing other than wind-water...it is a technique, or art, if you like, to control the "elements", so that they are environmentally compatible to man, or to control man's environment so as to be compatible to the elements. In Chinese thinking, (philosophy or mythology)There are five elements - fire, water, wind, earth, air. Wind and Water are chosen to represent this "art".
This art is mainly logical thinking. E.G. "never place your front foor facing a cross-road". Superstition ? No- just logic. If you place you front door facing a cross road, the bright headlights of cars will keep shining through your doors...Or "do not place your bed under a beam"....Well, of course ! ....Keep goldfish....so that you live peacesully ? Well, if the gold fish die, surely something is wrong in the house - dirty water, dirty air, etc which affects the goldfish- so keeping goldfish is for warning signs...|||Its not so much a religion as a beleif.|||it is just the belief that your luck, fortune, etc. can be improved by the placement of your furniture|||Chinese astrology|||Not a religion.
It's more science than tradition, I think.|||A pseudoscience, much like astrology is also.|||The science of energy flow.|||None of those.
It is a philosophy. It assumes that energy is all around us and in everything...
(Nuclear Physics proved that true, thanks Mr Einstein)
The step away from common assumtion is the guidance of the flow of this energy.
Oddly enough, most Feng-Shuei buildings seem to last better when involved in natural disasters...
An unusal tip from it...
"To encourage money, have a live green plant in the back left of your home - back left from the front door."|||a way of life through 2000 years research|||its not a religion but a chinese astrology to balance the harmony of nature
